Introduction to the Custom Fields Module
Module Objective
The objective of the Custom Fields Management module is to allow you to add fields to the employee file that align with your company and internal practices.
Once created, these fields will be available in the application to help you generate customized views, for example, or for your documents requiring a signature. They will be added to the fields already present in the column selectors.
Field Types
You can create four different types of fields:
- Text: This field allows you to enter any information without validation on the entered value. For example, you can enter a word, a number, or a combination of both. This field also supports URLs.
- Numeric: This field requires you to enter a numerical value in the "0.00" format. The decimal point is mandatory and cannot be omitted.
- Date: This field allows you to enter a valid date. You can also select a date from a "calendar" view. The format is "DD-MM-YYYY."
- Checkbox: This type of field is a checkbox. It has two statuses: Checked or Unchecked.
Field Placement
Custom fields can be displayed in two sections of the employee file. Each section can contain a maximum of eight custom fields:
- "Personal Information" section of the employee file
- "Employment" section of the employee file
Custom Field Security
Various behaviors are possible for custom fields:
- For text fields, users can be automatically prompted to select any value that has previously been entered in this field (a value recorded in another employee's file).
- For text fields, it is also possible to provide a predefined list of choices. You can require users to select one of these values or allow them to enter their own.
- Custom fields can be locked, meaning that the information can only be viewed after unlocking the employee file.
